Fundy Sound Choral Festival
Join us for the 2019 Fundy Sound – A Choral Festival By The Bay June 27 – July 1, 2019!
Fundy Sound – A Choral Festival By The Bay provides participating choirs with the opportunity to have a variety of musical experiences, explore the inspirational East Coast of Canada, and share experiences while developing lifelong friendships with musicians young and old.
In addition to participating in workshops under the direction of D.r Z. Randall Stroope, choirs have the opportunity to showcase their own work through a number of concerts throughout the Festival.
Participants will be welcomed at an Opening reception, where all choirs and Festival organizers meet each other for the first time, you will present a short program at the daytime showcase concerts held at outdoor venues in the region; you will present longer evening showcase concerts in local churches or other suitable venues; and, last but not least, you will perform in the Gala Finale Concert at the historic Imperial Theatre. These performances will be as an individual choir but also as a massed choir, under the direction of Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.
Where are we?
Saint John is located on the magnificent Bay of Fundy, where two mighty rivers meet the ocean and where visitors are amazed by the world’s highest tides and the famous Reversing Rapids. Saint John, New Brunswick is located on Canada’s east coast, just a 60 minute drive from the American border (Maine, U.S.A.), or a two hour flight from Toronto.
About the location
Saint John offers an urban adventure on the edge of nature. It is home to Canada’s largest urban park just a stone’s throw from the City center. It is Canada’s oldest incorporated city and is often likened to Boston, boasting charming historic streets and a plethora of restaurants, art galleries, unique shops, and Canada’s oldest continuing farmers’ market – all in the center of the City which is referred to as “Uptown”.
